A few weeks ago we received a notification from the third grade group from Girls on the Run, Lancaster would like a donation to Art-Reach. They were selling bracelets as part of community outreach program. Coach Katie says, “It’s a way for the girls to recognize their part in a larger community, to practice teamwork, and give back.”
This year, their team was impacted when one of our coaches, Mrs. Buckman, was in a serious car accident. Mrs. Buckman also happens to be the art teacher at our school, Brecknock Elementary. In honor of Mrs Buckman, the girls decided to donate to Art-Reach after learning about our mission. After weeks of selling their bracelets they had this to say about their experience: “It helped us use our creativity, collaboration skills, and star power to give back!”
