Last week the Art-Reach staff was presented the Community Asset Award at the Kennedy Center’s Leadership Exchange in Arts & Disability (LEAD) Conference in Denver, Colorado. The LEAD conference is always an energizing time for the Art-Reach staff, and this year was no different. Leading up to the awards ceremony, the entire Art-Reach staff presented sessions on various topics of accessibility to the national audience of the conference.
During the awards, we were thrilled to receive our award in the company of our friends and Philadelphia accessibility partners, Dani Rose of Ticket Philadelphia and Roger Ideishi of Temple University. Our Executive Director, John Orr recaps the award by saying:
” ‘When you call on Art-Reach you get all of us.’ I was so humbled to accept the Community Asset Award this week at the LEAD Conference but there was no way I was accepting without my team. Their work is why Art-Reach isn’t just changing lives, it’s changing the entire city.
That breeze blowing through Denver was Philadelphia’s accessibility assets taking home 3 LEAD Awards this year! Keep it up, Philly – the hardware looks good on you!”
